Csilla Somogyi found her love for fashion at a very young age.
Born and raised in Hungary, by way of Algeria, Csilla and her family settled in Veracruz, Mexico where she completed highschool. At age fourteen Csilla started designing and sewing dresses by hand. She bought fabrics from money she earned working at a friend's high end boutique.
Csilla completed a Bachelor's of Science degree in Interior Design at The University of Texas in Austin. She continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York city completing an associate degree in Fashion Design. Csilla participated with extensive clothing collections at many UT and FIT fashion shows.
Csilla worked for Nautica, Liz Claiborne and Macy's Merchandising group (Charter Club brand) as an assistant, then associate designer before she ventured out on her own.
In April 2007, Csilla started her own clothing label named CsillaWear. With the sponsorship of the Bacardi Brands they hosted many events in upscale Manhattan venues featuring elegant cocktails and scrumptious dresses.
Csilla opened her first boutique in Tribeca at 9 N. Moore Street in 2010.
The Csilla Somogyi Boutique today stands tall at 504 Congress Ave, in the heart of Austin, Texas. Csilla and her team continue to hand make each garment by hand.
